Oregon's permanent partial disability (PPD) system does not use a fixed number of weeks for benefits. For scheduled body parts (extremities, eyes, hearing), benefits are calculated based on a statutory number of 'units' for complete loss of use, with each unit having a dollar value set annually by the Director. For unscheduled body parts (trunk, e.g., back, neck, shoulder, knee), benefits are based on an impairment rating determined by the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 5th Edition, or other recognized medical standards, and are also expressed in units. Therefore, 'ppd_max_weeks' is null for all body parts as the state does not provide a week-based schedule.
